Typo is an advanced font manager, which enables one to :
  • Manage True-Type and Type 1 fonts.
  • List active fonts.
  • Display all fonts, whether active or not.
  • Index fonts on any kind of medium.
  • Organize fonts, alphabetically initially then by groups of your choice.
  • Scan medium (floppy disk, hard disk, CD-ROM...) and classify automatically the contained fonts.
  • Activate or desactivate fonts, individually or by group at the click of a button.
  • Repair registry (fonts sections).
  • Print lists of fonts.
  • Print example pages of fonts by group.
Typo is bilingual English-French.

Typo works with a database at MS Access format, fast and powerful.

It's really okay to be one of those people who can't resist new fonts. I'm right there with you, buddy. I can't resist them either. I could be looking at the most bud-ugly typeface ever hinted and I'll think to myself, "Hmmm... never know when I might need something like that." It's an addiction, I tell you. There's no cure, but there is hope. Admit to yourself that you have a problem and download a font manager application like Typo.

You see, all those hundreds of .ttf files are eating up your system's resources. I didn't even understand this myself until I got my act together and organized my fonts. The next time I booted up it was like somebody had added 64 MB of RAM to my PC while I wasn't looking! You think I'm kidding? If you've got more than 100 fonts on your computer, give Typo a try.

It lets you catalog, preview, install, uninstall, and print all of your True-Type and Type1 fonts. If slimming down the number of fonts you have installed all the time doesn't speed up your system... well... then you probably need that extra 64 MB of RAM after all.
